By Joachim Boese-Landgraf, Franz Fobbe
The Arbeitsgemeinschaft für regionale Tumortherapie e.V. is an organization in Germany that was founded 32 years ago with the goal of promoting interdisciplinary research in the field of regional and later local tumor therapy, as well as disseminating the results obtained. The editors of this book, Joachim Boese-Landgraf and Franz Fobbe, have been involved in the clinical and experimental treatment of malignant liver tumors for many years. A significant problem they encountered was the insufficient scientific basis for local and regional therapies, which was a topic constantly discussed within the organization. The development of new local therapy techniques, advancements in regional therapy, and the combined use of different methods were the inspiration for this comprehensive overview.
The objective of this book is to demonstrate the solid foundations that exist for the local and regional treatment of malignant liver tumors, as well as to identify areas where further research is needed. Closing these gaps in knowledge is the task that lies before the next generation of researchers. Another goal of this book is to provide oncologists with alternative treatment options to systemic chemotherapy for malignant liver tumors. The hope is that this information will contribute to the ongoing improvement of medical care for patients with these types of tumors.
Published by UNI-MED in December 2018, this is the first edition of the book. It is written in the German language and has an ISBN-10 of 3837415678 and an ISBN-13 of 978-3837415674.
